Leaked images of what is purported to be the new Audi A3 cabriolet have appeared online.
The new A3 cabriolet, which is set to be revealed in full at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show, is based on the recently launched Audi A3 saloon.
It will retain the fabric folding roof of the existing model, helping to reduce complexity, cost and weight. The engine line-up is predicted to reflect that of the standard A3 range, so expect a variety of TFSI and TDI engines to be offered.
More notably, an S3 cabriolet will also be available. It will feature a 296bhp engine and four-wheel drive, granting it the ability to sprint from 0-62mph in less than 5.5sec.
Production of the outgoing model, which was launched in 2008, has already ended. The new A3 Cabriolet is expected to go on sale in 2014.
