This comes as the most focused version of the”991” generation of the iconic sports car model, to be launched at the March 2013 Geneva motor show and you can place your order after that. It is set to be powered by the latest evolution of Porsche motorsport-derived normally aspirated 3.8-litre flat six, and not the 4.0 liter power plant used by the 997-generation GT3 RS 4.0. The power output will resultantly be around 450bhp, 15 more than the current one. This should give us an acceleration of 0-62mph in less than 4 seconds and a top speed tending towards 200mph. This new GT might have the same transmission, a PDK seven speed dual clutch automatic, still itching the manual transmission enthusiasts further than when the steering was switched to electrical. Although the gearbox is heavier, Porsche has reduced the weight by using lighter materials for the body. There is also interior trim and much less equipment compared to the 991 model. Rear seats will also be removed. You can easily distinguish this model with the base Carrera and the Carrera S models, in addition to the fact that the body structure is a bit different. At the front, a new splitter and sculpted front bumper have been added. The rear mounted engine receives more cooling due to the wide front air ducts. There is also a provision for more air intake between the bonnet and the top of the front bumper. Salient features also include wider sills and flared wheel arches which house larger 20-inch center locking wheels. The most outstanding thing you can see at the rear is the large fixed wing. The rear bumper has been reshaped and twin rear exhaust can be seen at the center.
However, before the 911 GT3 comes out, the all-wheel Drives of the Carrera and Carrera S versions will be released as Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S in both coupé and cabriolet guises at the Paris Motor show in September 2012.
For Members only
On the other hand, a special version of the Porsche 911 based on the Carrera S will be launched to mark the 60th anniversary of the first Porsche enthusiast clubs in Germany. Just 13 of the 911 club Coupés will be made and will only be sold to the official club members. Porsche will surely keep one for its museum. The Carrera S power plant gives 424bhp of power, 30bhp more than the standard one. It has the PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission mechanism and goes from 0-62mph in 4 seconds. It will be in “Brewster Green” and has a reworked front bumper, ducktail rear spoiler, 20-inch wheels and a bespoke interior.
